Reflections

wow. after what seemed like a short time, the semester is over soon. and finally, i think that its realli time for me to post my reflections on the CIP module.

overall, i thought the syllabus being covered was pretty adequate, especially the parts on MacroMedia and flash. i had enjoyed making my personal website; it was like a superstar looking at a fan site of himself! :)
somehow, i had expected CIP to be about computers and the different types of programmes being availble for us, so the personal website was definitely something that i havent thought of when it was given to us as an assignment. thankfully, the topics being thought to us were pretty adequate, although i would have to say that it was lucky i had some blogging skills, otherwise it would be pretty difficult in making the website have background music.

the different types of workshops have definitely developed my IT skills by quite abit. although i had some IT lessons back in secondary school, these lessons only covered the basics. with the new workshops again at poly, i find that i kknew more about these applications and their various functions. As for the PBLs, well, i must say that they are a pretty good learning point. not only did they make us learn more about computers, it also fostered our relationships within our group members. no wonder RP wanted their modules to be all PBL-based!

my tutor was simply a blast as well. he was friendly enough to make him be approachable, and has a v open and warm personality. however, the only dampening fact was that the class was simply too noisy at certain parts of the time. to make matters worse, it wasnt even class mates from my own class!

nevertheless, despite all the benefits that CIP had brought about, there is defintiely one thing to be changed: change the workshop format to that of the workshop consisting of only members from one's own class!!

there is so many benefits that CIP has brought about: all the IT skills, the teamwork, the problem-solving skills... but if i had to choose one most important one, it would have to be the teamwork &IT skills. this is because in singapore's economy, it is a very dynamic one. as such, with out IT skills and our teamwork, we will be able to gain an advantage against other people who lack these skills.

well, that's about all. :)

hey hey!

happy new year! with the new year of 2006, imagine my surprise when we got news of our PBL2 project! haha, actually my team have already went to research on information regarding the PBL problem earlier on in the morning or day, so i have compiled all the info available.

in PBL 1, we found out alot of technical things , like all the requirements of the computers, the diff processing speeds, diff types of hardwares and softwares, like system software and operational software. this was in accordance to our problem, which was about setting up a helpdesk in charge of IT for Futruistic Technology.

Well, in PBL 2, the IT helpdesk is already in operational order, but we are supposed to solve all of the problems that they have given us. and not to sound whiny, but their problems have really covered all type of IT problems, form invalid system disks, emails failuer, to cookies and printing errors.

of course, our team had used division of labour, and i was in charge of invalid system disks and emails, both problems i am pretty familiar with. Why? unfortuantely, its because my home's computer had been the victim of invalid system disks on more than one time, and my cousin had experienced such printing problems, and called me for assistance once.

well, shall go to do my ppt slides now. will blog again next time.

Chapter 1

this post is written as the weather outside has become veri cold and unfriendly.

my frien once posed this qn to me: wad is your favourite weather like? i thought for a while, and almost said 'sunny'. I mean, who doesnt like the sun? With it, we could go sun-tanning at the beach, or flexing those muscles over a game of beach volleyballl! But as i thought deeper, i found that i actually prefer a cold and windy weather. Why? Although i cannot go sun-tanning, i could always go swimming in indoor heated pools; although i cant go for a game of beach volleyball, i could always bowl at the bowling alley!

its the same with life: even though there might be obstacles in your course of doing things, you mus always try to find your way around it, or else find another alternative to do so!

"You're gentle and compassionate...open and flexible...considerate of others and do not for views and opinions on them. Often focus on meeting others needs...pleasant, quiet and kind....at their best ensuring others well-being. Caring and sensitive....modest and reserved.. "

im realli glad to see e education system changing finally.. so now its more independent-based learning, rather than the boring ol techer-student type.
