Reflections

wow. after what seemed like a short time, the semester is over soon. and finally, i think that its realli time for me to post my reflections on the CIP module.

overall, i thought the syllabus being covered was pretty adequate, especially the parts on MacroMedia and flash. i had enjoyed making my personal website; it was like a superstar looking at a fan site of himself! :)
somehow, i had expected CIP to be about computers and the different types of programmes being availble for us, so the personal website was definitely something that i havent thought of when it was given to us as an assignment. thankfully, the topics being thought to us were pretty adequate, although i would have to say that it was lucky i had some blogging skills, otherwise it would be pretty difficult in making the website have background music.

the different types of workshops have definitely developed my IT skills by quite abit. although i had some IT lessons back in secondary school, these lessons only covered the basics. with the new workshops again at poly, i find that i kknew more about these applications and their various functions. As for the PBLs, well, i must say that they are a pretty good learning point. not only did they make us learn more about computers, it also fostered our relationships within our group members. no wonder RP wanted their modules to be all PBL-based!

my tutor was simply a blast as well. he was friendly enough to make him be approachable, and has a v open and warm personality. however, the only dampening fact was that the class was simply too noisy at certain parts of the time. to make matters worse, it wasnt even class mates from my own class!

nevertheless, despite all the benefits that CIP had brought about, there is defintiely one thing to be changed: change the workshop format to that of the workshop consisting of only members from one's own class!!

there is so many benefits that CIP has brought about: all the IT skills, the teamwork, the problem-solving skills... but if i had to choose one most important one, it would have to be the teamwork &IT skills. this is because in singapore's economy, it is a very dynamic one. as such, with out IT skills and our teamwork, we will be able to gain an advantage against other people who lack these skills.

well, that's about all. :)
